  3. 3
Hold Shift and left click the Grim Reaper. Left click Object... > Delete it. Unpause, then hold Shift and left click the mailbox; click Force NPC... > Grim Reaper again.
  4. 4
Look near your house and search for a Grim Reaper.
    • If he is not moving, go to the main menu and save. Do not quit!
  5. 5
Load your saved game again and when you load in, pause. If your camera moves to your sim, move your camera back to the Grim Reaper.
    • It is recommended to pause the game now, so the Grim Reaper doesn't run away.
  6. 6
Hold Shift and left click the Grim Reaper. Click Add to active family.
  7. 7
Any time in-between 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Sim Time), go to the town hall.
  8. 8
Left click on the town hall. Select Change name. When it prompts you to select a Sim to change their name, click on the Grim Reaper.
  9. 9
Change the name to First Name "Grim" and Last Name "Reaper".

Method 3
Method 3 of 3:

Using an Unlucky Sim

  1. 1
Have a Sim get killed. Mostly use a Sim with the "unlucky" trait, so the Grim Reaper will come and let them stay alive.
  2. 2
Have at least one or two Sims with the "Evil" trait in the area. This way, the Grim Reaper will try to strike up a conversation with an evil Sim.
  3. 3
Have the evil Sim interact with him. Maybe flirt a bit. Then hold Ctrl+ Shift+C and press the Add to household option.
  4. 4
That's it! There you have it, you should be able to control the Grim Reaper, and possibly even marry him. If he doesn't stay, kill the unlucky Sim again and again, until he stays long enough for you to interact with him.

Community Q&A

  • Question
If I got the grim reaper to be my boyfriend and the green bar is full, why can't I add him to my household?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
He is an NPC designed to take away dead sims. If you add him to your household, it might break your game and corrupt everything.
  • Question
Can I do this on the Wii version of the Sims 3?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
No, the Wii does not support cheat codes.
  • Question
Would the Sim die when I cheat him in?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
No, he would not. If you cheat code in the Grim Reaper, he's not going to kill your Sim as there is no code giving evidence as to why they should die. It would complicate things, especially with the ghosts. He will teleport in, but if you want to talk to him, you have to do it quickly; once he realizes no one is dead, he will assume the job is done and leave. Try to strike up a conversation quickly, as you can't always summon him back with the same level of friendship.
