The Anemo Hypostasis is a boss present in Stormbearer Mountains in northern Mondstadt. It is an extremely pure form of Anemo energy, and its attacks often involve the air and the wind. This wikiHow will show you how to defeat an Anemo Hypostasis in Genshin Impact.

Part 1
Part 1 of 4:

Locating the Anemo Hypostasis

  1. 1
Teleport to the waypoint in western Stormbearer mountains. This waypoint is northwest of the first Statue of the Seven in Starfell lake in northern Mondstadt. The Anemo Hypostasis is characterized by this turquoise Rubik's cube-light structure with a bright turquoise core.
  2. 2
Prepare for battle. The Anemo Hypostasis is immune to all Anemo attacks, meaning you will need to have party members with elements that react with Anemo. The only Anemo reaction, Swirl, simply spreads the current elemental buff to a nearby character, meaning that physical damage may be the best way to go.
    • One fast way to deal massive amounts of damage is to combine Pyro with Electro to result in Overloaded.
    • You will also want a character that can regenerate your other characters' health, such as Barbara. If you do not have a character that can regenerate HP, then you will need a lot of food, and you will need to pay attention very closely.

  3. 3
Head north into the arena. You will encounter a few hilichurls that you will have to defeat but after that you will be in the arena. The Anemo Hypostasis is located in the center of the arena. Interacting with it will start the battle.
    • The boss has the potential to deal lots of damage if you are unprepared.
    • The arena has a huge square inscribed in the center.

Part 2 of 4:

Dodging Attacks

  1. 1
Avoid the air blasts. The Anemo Hypostasis will fly in the air and shoot two targeted air blasts at the player. Dash to dodge these attacks.
  2. 2
Watch out for the tornadoes. The Anemo Hypostasis will move high above then channel air into the center of the arena. At the same time, tornadoes will form all around the arena that you will need to dodge. These tornadoes can also absorb elemental energy which can deal elemental damage. Afterward, the tornadoes will dissipate into Anemo orbs.
  3. 3
Be careful of the Hypostasis's physical attack. The Anemo Hypostasis may fly near the player and move in a clapping motion around the player. When the boss forms a wall, get away from it.
  4. 4
Stay clear of the vacuum. In this attack, the Anemo Hypostasis will fly near the player and attempt to suck it up into the center. Then, the Hypostasis will form an explosion around the center, dealing heavy area-of-effect damage. Stay outside of the ring formed by the Hypostasis to dodge this attack.
  5. 5
Avoid the shock waves. In this move, the Anemo Hypostasis will absorb orbs scattered throughout the arena, dealing large area-of-effect damage. Move far away from the Hypostasis, jump, or use elemental abilities (like Noelle's shield) to dodge this attack.
  6. 6
Dodge the meteors. In this attack, the Anemo Hypostasis will fire Anemo shells at the ground, creating updrafts of wind. Know that the core for the Hypostasis is exposed during this attack.
  7. 7
Watch out for the Anemo missiles. The Anemo Hypostasis will form a round, circular shape and fire Anemo cubes at you. While they are not guided, these cubes can deal Anemo damage if you are not careful.
  8. 8
Heal your characters. If a character has downed, use food to revive them. If a character is running low on HP, give them food to replenish. Alternatively, use a character that can generate HP, such as Diona, Barbara, or Bennett.

Part 3 of 4:

Dealing Damage

  1. 1
Watch for when the Anemo Hypostasis core is exposed. The core is exposed in-between launching attacks. It will also be exposed during certain kinds of attacks. You can deal physical damage during this period.
    • All elemental attacks except for Anemo attacks against the Anemo Hypostasis result in Swirl, meaning you and other characters and enemies in the area will also be inflicted with the element you deal damage to. Deal with the Anemo element first then combine different attacks.
  2. 2
Use the updrafts to collect Anemo orbs. Fly around the arena looking for Anemo orbs and absorb them to prevent the shock waves from happening in the first place.
  3. 3
Be wary of your stamina. If your stamina is too low, you may not be able to dodge a specific attack. You can refill your stamina with food or by resting, and you can decrease stamina consumption with other food items.
  4. 4
Use physical attacks against the Hypostasis. You will want to have weapons that can deal high physical damage, such as a five-star Claymore. Hold the attack button down to deal continuous damage against the Hypostasis.
    • In addition, combine the different elements together. One easy way to deal massive amounts of damage is to combine Pyro with Electro, resulting in Overloaded.
  5. 5
Repeat to the end. After reaching less than 5% HP, the Anemo Hypostasis will dissipate into three orbs. Use the wind currents to glide up and collect the Anemo orbs to prevent the Anemo Hypostasis from healing. Unlike the Geo and Electro Hypostases, the boss will not immediately die after collecting all the orbs; you will have to continue fighting to the end to defeat the Anemo Hypostasis.

Part 4 of 4:

Collecting Rewards

  1. 1
Locate the Ley Line Blossom. This looks a bit like a wilted flower and is probably in the center of the arena.
  2. 2
Use the Resin to revitalize the blossom. If you do not have enough Original Resin, you can use Fragile Resin instead.
  3. 3
Collect rewards. Depending on your level, you may get different rewards, but you will always get Hurricane Seed (an ascension material for Anemo characters, excluding Xiao), artifacts, Vayuda Turquoise (also used in ascending Anemo characters), artifacts, and a set amount of Adventure, Companionship, and Character EXP.
