The Oceanid is a boss located in Liyue that is present northeast of Wuwang Hill and east of Qingce Village. It is an extremely pure form of Hydro energy, and its attacks often involve water. This wikiHow will show you how to defeat an Oceanid in Genshin Impact.
Steps
Part 1
Part 1 of 4:
Locating the Oceanid
-
1Prepare for the battle. The Oceanid is immune to all Hydro attacks, meaning you will need to have party members with elements that react with Hydro. Pyro, Cryo, Geo, and Electro all react with Hydro resulting in vaporize, frozen, crystallized, and electrocharged, while Anemo, and Dendro are all ineffective in fighting the Oceanid.
- You will also want a character that can regenerate your other characters' health, such as Noelle. If you do not have a character that can regenerate HP, then you will need a lot of food, and you will need to pay attention very closely.
- Select characters of the highest level to deal the maximum damage. This is because of the timed nature of the battle; if you are unable to defeat the hydro mimics within a certain period of time, a whirlpool will emerge underneath, draining your current character's health until it is down or until it explodes. This cannot be avoided.

Directly
-
1Teleport to the waypoint in the cave in Wuwang Hill. This is located east of the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula domain and located underground. You will see a large platform in the middle of a large lake.
-
2Head north into the lake. Continue heading north until you reach the platform. It will start to rain and the sky will start to get foggy.
-
3Climb onto the platform. Approach the blue circle on the ground to start the battle.

Via Stone Gate
-
1Teleport to the waypoint north of Stone Gate. It should be located on an elevated path.
-
2Head southwest on the path. Keep on heading in this direction until you get off the ramp.
-
3Head west following the mountain. Eventually, you will find a cave.
-
4Travel through the cave. You will find some minerals and a few enemies that you will need to defeat.
-
5Activate the waypoint at the end of the cave. Once you reach the end of the tunnel, you will see a large platform in the middle of a large lake.
-
6Head north into the lake. Continue heading north until you reach the platform. It will start to rain and the sky will start to get foggy.
-
7Climb onto the platform. Approach the blue circle on the ground to start the battle.

Part 2 of 4:
Dodging Attacks
-
1Know how the Oceanid launches attacks. Instead of directly attacking you, it will launch different hydro mimics that attack you and that you must defeat to deal damage. These spawn in groups of one or two on a given platform.
-
2Avoid a Water Boar's charge. If a Water Boar spawns, then you will have to avoid its charges. To do so, dash out of the way as soon as one runs towards you.
-
3Keep back from a Water Squirrel's attack. They will attempt to deal damage to you from close range. If you can stop the squirrel from pouncing on you, you should be okay.
-
4Avoid the Water Crane's waves. They can affect you even from afar. To do so, you can dash out of the way.
-
5Keep clear of the Water Hawk. These will swoop down to deal damage to your character. You can do so by dashing out of the way when one swoops down or by throwing down a taunt object (like Amber's Baron Bunny).
-
6Watch out for the Water Duck. These will follow you around with a water vortex underneath, dealing damage over time. To do so, stand clear of the circle that the Water Duck is sitting in.
-
7Stand clear of the Water Crab. These will spray water bubbles at you, dealing damage over time. To do so, move from the path of the bubbles.
-
8Move away from the Water Sparrow's attacks. These pounce and leap, dealing massive damage. When it leaps, dash out of its circle.
-
9Dodge the Water Frog's attacks. These will splash you and tackle you in close range. In addition, it will leap to deal damage. When it leaps, dash out of its circle, and when it sprays, move away from the stream.
-
10Watch out for the explosions. After defeating the Water Sparrow and Water Frog, a bubble will form where they were defeated. This bubble may follow you and explode upon touching it. The range of this explosion is very long, so be aware of this while fighting the Oceanid. They will also explode after a preset time period.
-
11Keep clear when the platform sinks. Every two waves, the Oceanid will sink two platforms. If you are unfortunate enough to be standing on a sinking platform, you will both end up in the water and you will take some damage.
-
12Be quick when defeating the enemies. If you are too slow, a whirlpool will emerge from under you. When the Oceanid calls out "Submerge", the whirlpool will quickly obliterate your current character.

Part 3
Part 3 of 4:
Dealing Damage
-
1Use Cryo to freeze the land mimics. This will result in frozen. After, deal a charged attack to shatter the ice and deal even more damage.
-
2Use Pyro to vaporize the land mimics. This will deal more damage to the land mimics, as with all the other elemental reactions. Vaporize is also a very powerful elemental reaction, so it’s crucial to use a Pyro character such as Amber, Xiangling, or Thoma, just in case.
-
3Use Electro to shock the land mimics. This will result in Electro-Charged, which can deal lots of damage. This will also electrocute nearby land mimics and deal more damage over time.
-
4Use ranged characters to tackle the Water Hawks. This includes Amber, Fischl, Diona, and Lisa. These characters are some of the only ones able to attack the Water Hawks.
-
5Use the time between waves to heal. You can eat food or use a healing character like Diona or Noelle to regenerate your character's HP, so you won’t have to worry about dying.
-
6Repeat to the end. After tackling each wave, the Oceanid will disappear underwater and a Ley Line Blossom will spawn in the arena. The first two waves will contain one land mimic type, the next two waves will contain two land mimic types, and the final wave will also contain two land mimic types.

Part 4 of 4:
Collecting Rewards
-
1Locate the Ley Line Blossom. This looks a bit like a wilted flower and is probably in the center of the arena.
-
2Use the Resin to revitalize the blossom. If you do not have enough Original Resin, you can use Fragile Resin instead.
-
3Collect rewards. Depending on your level, you may get different rewards, but you will always get Cleansing Heart and 100 EXP, which is a critical Character Ascension Material for Hydro characters.

Community Q&A
-
QuestionWhy is my damage output low?AasimTop AnswererYour damage output is low because you probably are using a low-level character. Make sure to level up your character as well as their talents. Choose DMG boosting artifacts and unlock constellations.

Warnings
- If it is obvious that your characters are losing a lot of health, teleport to a Statue of the Seven to regenerate health and consider fighting when your party and/or adventure level is higher.⧼thumbs_response⧽
