Eevee is a powerful Pokémon with seven different evolutions. While you can't find one normally in Pokémon Ruby, you can transfer it from FireRed or LeafGreen. If you don't have access to those games and you're playing on an emulator, you can use cheat codes to find an Eevee. If you're playing Omega Ruby, you can find Eevee after you beat the game.

Method 1
Method 1 of 3:

Trading For Eevee (Ruby)

  1. 1
Get an Eevee in FireRed or LeafGreen. The only legitimate way to get an Eevee in Pokémon Ruby is to trade for the one you can get in FireRed or LeafGreen. It is not possible to catch an Eevee or receive an Eevee in any other way without cheating. If you are playing Omega Ruby for 3DS, you can catch a wild Eevee. See the section below for details.[1]
    • You can find the Eevee in FireRed and LeafGreen by going to the room on the roof of the Celadon Condominiums. You'll find the Eevee in a Poke Ball in the room. This is the only Eevee in either of these games, and the only way to get an Eevee to Ruby.
  2. 2
Beat the game in FireRed or LeafGreen. You'll need to have completed the game and receive the National Pokedex in FireRed or LeafGreen in order to enable trading with Ruby.

  3. 3
Connect two GBA systems via Link Cable. You cannot use the GBA Wireless Adapter to trade Pokemon.[2]
    • One GBA system needs to have FireRed or LeafGreen having met the requirements above, and the other needs to have Ruby.
  4. 4
Go to the second floor of any Pokémon Center in both games. You'll be able to trade between games using the Pokémon Centers. Each player needs to go to the second floor of any Center in their game.
  5. 5
Start the trading process. Talk to the person in the center of the room in each game and confirm when prompted to start trading and save your game. Once you've confirmed a few times, you'll be taken to the trading room.
  6. 6
Trade the Eevee from FireRed/LeafGreen to Ruby. Use the computer in the middle of the room to set up the trade. Select the Eevee from the FireRed/LeafGreen system and trade it to the Ruby system. Confirm that you want to complete the trade.

Method 2 of 3:

Cheating for Eevee (Ruby)

  1. 1
Open Pokémon Ruby in your GBA emulator. If you're playing Ruby in an emulator, you can easily enter codes to make Eevee appear. One of the most popular emulators is VBA-M. See Use and Set up VisualBoy Advance for instructions on installing and using it.
    • Ruby will need to be running in order to enter cheats for it.
  2. 2
Open the Cheats menu. The process varies depending on your emulator, but generally you can click the Tools menu, select "Cheats," and then click "Cheats list."
  3. 3
Create a new cheat. Click the "New Cheat" button and name your cheat "Eevee." This will make it easy to find later.
  4. 4
Paste the following code into the Code field. Copy and paste the following code to enter the Eevee cheat.[3]
    39E924C4 4136A9DD
    4B78A144 F02E1187
  5. 5
Save your cheat and return to the game. The cheat will be enabled automatically, and you won't need to restart.
  6. 6
Walk in the tall grass until you encounter a Pokemon. With the cheat enabled, all Pokémon you encounter will be Eevees. The Eevee will be the same general level as the Pokémon that you normally encounter in that area are.
  7. 7
Capture the Eevee. Once you encounter the Eevee, you can capture it much like you would any Pokemon. Lower its health and throw Poke Balls at it once it is low. If you accidentally knock it out, you can just walk until you encounter another one.
  8. 8
Disable the code once you've got your Eevee. You'll keep encountering Eevees until you disable the code. Open the Cheats List window again and uncheck the box next to your Eevee code to return your game to its regular operation.

Method 3 of 3:

Catching Eevee (Omega Ruby)

  1. 1
Defeat or capture Groudon. This happens towards the end of the story, right before the last gym. Once you've captured Groudon, Hidden Pokémon around the land will begin appearing, including Eevee.
  2. 2
Head to Route 116. You can find an Eevee on Route 116. Unlike regular Pokemon, Eevee is a Hidden Pokémon on this Route, meaning it will appear at random and you'll have to track it down. Route 116 connects Rustboro City and Rusturf Tunnel.
  3. 3
Open the Pokémon catching progress screen on the DexNav. This is the default view for the lower screen, and shows a map of the area and the Pokémon you've caught.
  4. 4
Walk around until you encounter a Hidden Pokemon. You'll hear its cry and see the bush or grass tile it's in shake. You'll also be alerted on your DexNav by a magnifying glass icon.
  5. 5
Sneak up on the Hidden Pokemon. Gently push your control stick towards the Hidden Pokémon so that you don't startle it. You can't be on your bike or using skates, and you can't use the directional pad.
  6. 6
Identify the Hidden Pokemon. There are three possible Hidden Pokémon on Route 116, so there's a 33% chance it will be Eevee. You may be able to see a part of Eevee sticking out of the grass, and you'll get confirmation on your DexNav when you get within 4 tiles of it.
  7. 7
Battle and capture the hidden Eevee. If you manage to sneak up on Eevee, you can start a battle with it. You'll be able to catch it like you would any Pokémon by lowering its health and throwing Poke Balls. The Eevee will be level 8.[4]
