This is a super easy recipe that relies on self-raising (self-rising) flour to achieve nicely peaked cupcakes. It's simple to put together and should take about 20 minutes in total, including cooking time.
Ingredients
- 150g of butter
- 150g of caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 150g of self raising flour (self-rising flour)
- 5mL (1 teaspoon) of milk
- 2mL (1/2 teaspoon) of vanilla essence
- Icing/frosting (if using)
Steps

1Measure out all the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

2Put the butter into a bowl and beat until light and fluffy.Advertisement

3Add the sugar and beat it in.

4Add 1 egg and whisk it into the butter and sugar.

5Add the other egg and whisk it in.

6Add the flour and fold it into the mixture using a spatula or wooden spoon.

7Add the milk and vanilla essence.

8Put the batter into 12 cupcake cases. Make sure that they are evenly distributed.
