Baking Information
Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes!
Ingredients
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 12 caramels (add more to taste)
- 1 tablespoon milk
Steps
-
1Preheat oven to 350°F. 350°F is the perfect temperature for ooey-gooey brownies!
-
2Line a 13x9-inch square baking pan with foil and allow the foil to hang over the edges slightly. The overhang keeps the foil from falling inwards during baking.Advertisement
-
3Grease the foiled pan with either cooking spray or shortening. This will keep your brownies from sticking to the pan! Any non-stick cooking spray should do.
-
4In a large saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup of chocolate chips and butter until smooth and then remove from heat. Melting on low will avoid burning the ingredients.
-
5In the large saucepan, stir in eggs, flour, sugar, baking soda, and vanilla. Make sure to store well so that all ingredients are incorporated. If the ingredients are not fully incorporated, your brownies will not taste as good.
-
6Spread brownie batter into the lined 13x9-inch pan. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips and walnuts on top of the batter.
-
7Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick is inserted and comes out slightly sticky. If your toothpick is very sticky, your brownies are undercooked. If your toothpick is clean, your brownies are overcooked. Slightly sticky is just right!
-
8Add caramel and milk into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for one minute and then stir. Continue to microwave the mixture at 10-15 second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted. You want to keep the intervals at 10-15 seconds to avoid burning the caramel and milk mixture.
-
9Drizzle caramel mixture over the warm brownies and allow time for the brownies to cool in the pan. Be sure to remove the brownies from the pan BEFORE they are fully cool.
-
10After about 10-15 minutes, cut your brownies and they are ready to be served!
