Some of the characters on Mario Kart Wii are pretty cool. So cool that you and your friends tend to fight over them. Want to stop the fighting? Here's an easy glitch that makes it so you can all play as the same character.

Steps

  1. 1
Find 2 or more Wii Remotes. If you can't find one, you can use old GameCube controllers.
  2. 2
Insert the game into the Wii and go on multiplayer. Choose the mode you would wish to play.

  3. 3
When you get to the "Character Select" screen, have player 1 select the desired character.
  4. 4
Make player 1 deselect the character by pressing the B button.
  5. 5
Do steps 3 and 4 with player 2.
  6. 6
Repeat steps 3 and 4 with players 3 and 4 (if needed.)
  7. 7
Have player 1 press the B button to go back to the previous screen.
  8. 8
Have player 1 select the same mode that sent you to the Character Select Screen before everyone took turns select the same character.
    • You should all be the same character. Make sure you press A on all of the remotes to go on.

Can you just win all the races in a cup to get a star rank?

To get a one/two/three-star ranking, you must win all the races in the cup AND do extremely well in the races. If your end score is not 60/60, there is no chance of a star ranking.
