Central District (Malekshahi County)

The Central District of Malekshahi County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان ملکشاهی) is in Ilam province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Arkavaz.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, the region's population (as a part of the former Malekshahi District of Mehran County) was 31,393 in 5,722 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 16,144 people in 4,043 households,[5] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Malekshahi County.[3] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 15,374 inhabitants in 4,453 households.[2]
