Eshaqabad, Zeberkhan

Eshaqabad (Persian: اسحق اباد, also Romanized as Esḩāqābād and Es’hāq Ābād)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Eshaqabad District of Zeberkhan County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran, and also serves as the capital of Eshaqabad Rural District.[4][5]

At the 2006 census, its population was 3,810 in 988 households, when it was a village in the former Zeberkhan District of Nishapur County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 4,149 people in 1,224 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,288 people in 1,312 households.[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county and divided into the Central and Eshaqabad Districts, the latter including the newly formed Heshmatiyeh Rural District.[4][5] The village of Eshaqabad has been elevated to the status of a city.[8]
