Khayan

Khayan (Persian: خايان, also Romanized as Khāyān and Khāyūn)[3] is a village in Shirvan-e Sharqi Rural District of Shirvan District, Borujerd County, Lorestan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,096 in 579 households, when it was in the former Shirvan Rural District of the Central District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 2,174 people in 687 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,148 people in 678 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]

After the census, the rural district was separated from the district, renamed Shirvan-e Sharqi Rural District, and along with the newly created Shirvan-e Gharbi Rural District established Shirvan District.[6]
