Nukjub

Nukjub (Persian: نوكجوب, also Romanized as Nūkjūb; also known as Nokjū, Nook Joo, Nowk Janūb, and Nūkchū)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Bampur-e Sharqi Rural District of the Central District of Bampur County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,043 in 434 households, when it was in the former Bampur District of Iranshahr County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,472 people in 603 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,561 people in 679 households.[2]

On 13 August 2017, Bampur District was separated from Iranshahr County to establish Bampur County, which was further divided into two districts, four rural districts, and three cities.[4]
