Palangabad District

Palangabad District (Persian: بخش پلنگاباد) is in Eshtehard County, Alborz province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Palangabad.

Prior to the establishment of the district, its constituent villages were a part of Eshtehard District of Karaj County, Tehran province. At the latest census in 2016, the population of the district was 2,625 in 819 households, by which time the district had separated from the county and become a part of recently established Alborz province as Eshtehard County, with two districts. The largest village in the district was Palangabad, with 1,012 inhabitants.[2][3] After the census, the village was promoted to the status of a city.[4]
