Zamkan-e Jonubi Rural District
Zamkan-e Jonubi Rural District (Persian: دهستان زمکان جنوبی), formerly Zamkan Rural District, is in Zamkan District of Salas-e Babajani County, Kermanshah province, Iran.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as Zamkan Rural District of the Central District) was 6,998 in 1,495 households.[4] There were 6,213 inhabitants in 1,466 households at the following census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 5,070 in 1,301 households. The largest of its 40 villages was Mirabad, with 966 people.[2]
In 2019, Zamkan Rural District's name was changed to Zamkan-e Jonubi Rural District, separated from the Central District, and became, along with the new Zamkan-e Shomali Rural District, a part of the newly established Zamkan District.[3]
