Etymology
From Sanskrit ঘৰ্ম (gharma, “heat”), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *gʰarmá-, from Proto-Indo-European *gʷʰor-mós (“warmth, heat”). Cognate with Sylheti ꠊꠣꠝ (gam), Marathi घाम (ghām), Konkani घाम (ghām) and Romani kham (“sun”). Doublet of গৰম (gorom).
