ENCOURAGING HEALTH WORKERS TO BE CREATIVE:
The ‘invading germs’ teaching aid was designed and put together by instructors and
students during a health worker training course in Ajoya, Mexico. The invention of new
and better teaching aids has become one of the most challenging and exciting parts
of the training program. Teaching aids designed during the course are doubly valuable.
They not only help health workers to learn and teach basic health principles, they also
help the health workers and their instructors become more creative. Together they
begin to think in terms of hunting for new and better answers. Learning—and life
itself—becomes an adventure!
