QuestionHow do I properly shade lips?Community AnswerFirst, you need to determine where the light source is coming from. For example, if the light is coming from the top right, the highlights should be near the top right. The shadows are always the farthest away from the light source (in this example, the bottom left). The corners of the lip will be slightly darker than everything else.

About This Article
To draw a woman’s lips, start by drawing 3 overlapping circles in an imaginary triangular area, with 1 circle on top and 2 below. Next, sketch an open pea shape-like area around the circles, touching the edges of the upper and the bottom ones. Then, make a small wavy line at the top of the pea-shape and a larger wavy line through the center. Join the edges of the center line to the tapered corners, erase the circles, and color the lips in.
