This recipe is a basic (and easy) recipe for white bread made in a food processor.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (380 grams) bread flour (all-purpose is a good substitute, but won't have the same result)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 packet (1 1/4 tablespoons) yeast
  • 3 tablespoons (40 grams) butter or margarine
  • 1 cup (240 mL) warm to hot water (warm to the touch, but won't burn you)

Steps

  1. 1
Collect all your ingredients and make sure your food processor is put together correctly (bowl locked into place, blade in position, top is ready, plugged in, etc.).
  2. 2
Add flour, sugar, salt and yeast into the food processor and pulse to mix ingredients.

  3. 3
Add butter or margarine and mix for 15-20 seconds, or until mixed thoroughly.
    • While the food processor is still running, slowly add the water until all of it is mixed into the dough and it is at the right consistency, in which it will basically "roll" around the food processor bowl (you'll know it when you see it).
  4. 4
Remove dough from mixing bowl and let it rest on a lightly floured surface for 20 minutes.
  5. 5
If molding, put dough into the greased mold pan and cover. Set aside to "proof" for one hour.
  6. 6
    Preheat oven to 375 °F (191 °C).
  7. 7
Bake for 45 minutes in a greased pan.
  8. 8
Set bread onto a cooling rack, let cool, and enjoy!
