Many hobbyists airbrush their plastic models. Pick up an airbrush kit, along with an airbrush compressor—the compressor is what actually provides air to your airbrush. If your budget is tight, pick up an external mix airbrush, along with a compressed air can. If you plan on airbrushing regularly, buy a single or double action airbrush, along with an airbrush compressor.
- Follow your airbrush kit instructions for more guidance on how to mix your paint and paint thinner.

Paint your models with a traditional brush. Hobbyists recommend using stiff bristles that hold their shape after soaking for a minute in water. Then, mix 1 part paint thinner with 6-7 parts plastic enamel paint, so your paint spreads evenly.^{[4]
