Bagh-e Malek County

Bagh-e Malek County (Persian: شهرستان باغ ‌ملک) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Bagh-e Malek.

At the 2006 census, the county's population was 103,217 in 19,814 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 107,450 people in 23,976 households.[4] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 105,384 in 25,872 households.[2]

Administrative divisions

The population history and structural changes of Bagh-e Malek County's administrative divisions over three consecutive censuses are shown in the following table. The latest census shows three districts, eight rural districts, and four cities.[2]

In February 2023, Seydun District was separated from the county, elevated to the status of Seydun County, and divided into two districts with two rural districts each. The city of Seydun became the new county's capital and only city.[5] In April 2023, Qaleh Tall Rural District was separated from the Central District, elevated to the status of Qaleh Tall District and divided into two rural districts, with the city of Qaleh Tall as its capital.[6]
