DEFINITIONS OF CONCEPTS/TOOLS USED IN GENDER ANALYSIS
GENDER ROLES - WHAT ARE THEY?
a Reproductive Role Child bearing, child rearing and domestic tasks done by women
and essential to the existence of the society.
b Productive Role Work done by both women and men for pay in cash or kind.
c* Community Managing Voluntary, unpaid work primarily done by women, an extension of
