Steps

    Open your Roku device or TV. Roku will open up to your Home feed on the right, and main menu on the left.

    Select Streaming Channels on the menu. You can use your Roku remote to navigate the menu.
    • This will open the Channel Store. You can browse and add new channels here.

    Select Search Channels on the left-menu. You can enter a keyword, and search all the channels here.

    Type NBC News into the channel search. Use your Roku remote to type on the virtual keyboard on your screen. Matching results will show up on the right.
    • You can watch your local MSNBC live stream in the NBC News app.
    • Depending on your region and cable subscription, you may not be able to find and add the NBC News channel to your Roku account.
    • If the NBC News channel is not available in your area or subscription, you can add a third-party channel, such as DirecTv Plex, USTVNow or Wow.tv, and watch the national MSNBC stream live here.

    Select the NBC News channel in the search results. You can find the official NBC channel at the top. Selecting the icon will open the channel details.

    Select the Add channel button in channel details. This will add the NBC News channel to your Home feed.
    • If you created a PIN during activation, you'll be prompted to enter it here.

    Select OK in the confirmation pop-up. You'll see a pop-up notification when the channel is successfully added. The OK button will close the pop-up.

    Select Go to channel in the channel details. You'll see this option next to the channel icon after adding it to your Home feed. It will open the NBC News channel.
    • Alternatively, you can always open the channel anytime from your Home feed.
