Qorqori

Qorqori (Persian: قرقري, also Romanized as Qorqorī and Qarqarī; also known as Qorgorī)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Qorqori District of Hirmand County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran, and also serves as the capital of Qorqori Rural District.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 919 in 189 households, when it was a village in the former Hirmand District of Zabol County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,287 people in 245 households.[6] By the time of the census, Hirmand District had been separated from Zabol County to form Hirmand County. It was then divided into the Central and Qorqori Districts.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,329 people in 324 households.[2] After the census, the village of Qorqori was elevated to the status of a city.[7]
