Zir Tang, Ilam

Zir Tang (Persian: زيرتنگ, also Romanized as Zīr Tang; also known as Zīrtang Bījanvand)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Bijnavand Rural District of Zagros District, Chardavol County, Ilam province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 501 in 110 households, when it was in the Central District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 487 people in 119 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 469 people in 124 households,[2] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district and elevated to the status of a district.[4]
