Etymology
From Middle Chinese 舍利子 (MC ɕiaX|ɕiaH liɪH t͡sɨX), attested in Xuanzang's translation of the Prajñāpāramitāhṛdaya Sutra.

- "Shariputra, form is no other than emptiness; emptiness no other than form[,] form is exactly emptiness; emptiness exactly form. The same is true of feelings, perceptions, impulses, consciousness. Shariputra, all things are marked by emptiness: not born, not destroyed, not tainted, not pure, without gain, without loss."[1]
