If you want to lessen the time, feed the zombie the golden apple directly after hitting it with the potion. Tip: Keep a bucket of milk nearby. You will also get the weakness effect when hitting the zombie. Drink the milk to get rid of the potion.

Warnings

If the villager is bitten by a zombie during the process, the villager will stay as a zombie until you do it again. Keep zombies away from the villager.
