While Create-a-Sim doesn't allow for households without adult Sims to be created, you can still make teen Sims live alone or with other young Sims if you choose. This wikiHow will teach you how to make teen Sims live alone in The Sims 2.

Steps

  1. 1
Create a Teen Sim and an Adult Sim. You need to have at least one adult for the teen to be related to; it's a limit hard-coded into the game.
    • Teens can care for Child Sims or younger like adults can, so you can add children or toddlers if you'd like a challenge.
  2. 2
Move the family into a lot or house.

  3. 3
Move out the adult to keep them alive. If you don't want to kill off the adult, you can simply move them out.
    • Wait for the newspaper to be delivered. Alternatively, buy your Sim a computer.
    • Click on the newspaper or computer and select Find Own Place.
    • Direct only the adult to move out and leave the teen behind. The adult will move off the lot and be returned to the Family Bin in the neighborhood you're playing.

Warning: Do not delete the adult Sim after you move them out. Doing so will corrupt the neighborhood. If you don't want the adult Sim in the neighborhood, you'll either have to kill them off or use third-party programs to delete them.

  4. 4
Kill the adult for a more lethal option. If you're not interested in keeping the adult around, you can also kill them off so the teen will live on their own. However, be aware that this will distress the teen and they'll cry a lot for several days afterwards.
    • Using cheats: Press Ctrl+ Shift+C, type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, and hit Enter. Shift-click on the adult Sim and select Kill..., then choose the method of death. (If you have Nightlife installed, you can also click Spawn..., choose Rodney's Death Creator, and choose the method of death for your Sim that way.)
    • Naturally: Kill your Sim through any manner of death you choose. The most convenient base-game methods are fire, electrocution, and drowning, but there are more methods to choose from.

Tip: If the teen has no living parents and you have University installed, the teen will get a scholarship for being an orphan.

  5. 5
Play your teen Sim. Teen Sims can cook meals, get part-time jobs, pay bills, go to community lots, and drive cars (if you have Nightlife), so they can live independently without any need for cheats or hacks.
    • Keep your Sim's grades up if you want them to have a part-time job. Low grades will prevent them from getting a job.
    • If there are younger Sims in the house, like children or toddlers, your teen may need to hire a nanny to watch the children during school or work hours.
    • If you want your teen Sim to get married or pregnant, you'll need to use cheats or third-party hacks.

Warnings

  • This won't work if you only have children in the household, unless you use a No Social Worker hack.
