ащемс

Moksha

Etymology

Believed to be cognate with Finnish asema, Estonian ase; asuma (place; to be located), Komi-Zyrian ӧз-, ӧзын (öz-, özyn, berth; pier, dock (for parking boats)), Northern Sami [Term?] (е̄сскэ, to stop over, settle (temporarily)), Tundra Nenets [script needed] (ŋäeso-, to stop and set up a chum (~ tipi)).[1]
