Compare Lithuanian liūstù (“be sad”), Old English lutian (“hide, conceal lie, lurk”), lȳt (“small”), Gothic 𐌻𐌿𐍄𐍉𐌽 (lutōn, “cheat, deceive”), Old Norse ljotr (“ugly”).
