Yahoo! Mail has a good spam filter, and it is usually able to separate the spam mail from your regular mail and store it inside the Spam folder. However, there may still be instances when you get spam mail in your Inbox. You can help Yahoo Mail improve its spam filter by reporting spam mail to them.

- If you aren't sure if something is spam, check the sender's email and see if it looks legit or not. For instance, an alert from Apple should come from support@apple.com.
-
4Report the spam mail. Click on the “Spam” button on the header toolbar to report these selected emails as spam. These emails will be removed from your Inbox folder and moved to the Spam folder.
- All similar emails in the future will also be flagged by Yahoo Mail as spam and will be directly placed into the Spam folder.
-
5Empty the Spam folder. Hover over the Spam folder from the list of folders on the left panel, and a trash bin icon will appear beside it. Click on this. All the emails inside the Spam folder will be permanently deleted.
- Do this regularly to get rid of spam.
